Mimio Scrambled Sight Word Puzzles

I started to do sight word puzzles in January with my students every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during our morning meeting.  My students would bring a white board, marker and eraser down to our meeting area and would record their answers on the white board.  The first set of puzzles I did were to scramble the sight words I had already introduced.  I scrambled six sight words for Monday, six for Wednesday and six for Friday.  I would show the scrambled word and give the students a few minutes to try to figure out what sight word it was.  They would then write their “guess” on their recording sheet and then I would show them the answer to see if they got it right.  I would then move on to the next word  and do the same thing for the next five words.  I would give students some hints if I saw them struggling or point out some letter patters (ie., if you see to ee’s they may go together).  The students really looked forward to the puzzles and l...
