Summer!!!!
Future goal: add to my blog weekly (I don't want to say daily as I know I can't commit to that one yet).
I can try to work on that goal right now as summer is upon me. It was March the last time I added anything to my blog. As all teachers know the end of the school year is so busy. The school that I was teaching in was involved in a boundary review so that was a stressful time as no one really knew what the outcome was going to be. So I had to decide if I was going to stay at the school that I had worked so hard to get to. This was the school I went to growing up and it was like home. I also don't live to far away so I really enjoyed being close to work. So I decided to take control and make sure I stayed in the area. I applied to a few schools that were also in the area and I was the top senior teacher at one of the schools so I accepted. I will be heading to Ecole Rockingham School which is actually closer than Grosvenor Wentworth Park was to me. My last year in my education degree I had actually done my teaching practicum at Rockingham and many of my friends went to school there so it wasn't a hard decision to make to head to Rockingham.
However, any teacher who has to move and has been teaching for awhile knows what comes next...the dreaded packing up the classroom and realizing how much stuff one had accumulated over the years. I started going through my things 3 weeks before I knew I was able to move my things to my new school. I first went through all the binders I had and recycled A LOT of paper. I actually got rid of 28 binders!!! I was very proud of that. Every night I would go over in my head what I had packed up and thought "Did I really need to pack that?". So the next morning I would unpack and purge a little more. However, I still had A LOT!!
The night before I could move my stuff to Rockingham, I put all of my boxes and bins outside my classroom on the floor. I had to use the other side of the hallway too!! I had sooooooooo many picture books that were already organized in magazine holders that I just put those holders into lots of cloth bags you buy at the grocery store. They were easier to carry BUT there were many. I did take some pictures so share...
I was able to visit my new classroom when it was set up by the other teacher. I took some pictures just to get an idea of how she set it up.
Packing was stressful but I got it done and know I wait until August to unpack!! Right now I look at the pictures of my classroom and try to get my mind around where I am going to put some things.
I'm really excited that my room has an LCD mounted on the ceiling as I have my own Mimio and will be able to use it next year in the classroom.
So summer has begun and my goal will be to add to my blog weekly. I have been working away this week on some TPT stuff as I want to change up my word wall and add some fun heading and accents. So I will be posting that in the near future...
Enjoy!

I love the set up she had for her reading corner with the books and the benches. Unfortunately, the lovely benches were hers so I will have to be creative with my reading corner. I'm sure the little ones loved picking books and reading on those benches!
Most of the white shelves were the other teacher's too so I will be on the look out this summer for shelves on sale and looking on pinterest for other ideas too.
And I was able to take some pictures of the classroom when it was packed up so I can really get my mind around how I am going to set up my new classroom.
