Making Words Mat for File Folders


I LOVE finding a use for file folders so the students can take the activity to their desks.  So I created these making words file folders for each student.  I can use them in group lesson or a whole class lesson.  The students are able to use them during free time too. 

I print out the letters on card stock and laminate.  I put little squares of Velcro on the back of each letter.  I print out the two making words sheets on whole page labels so I can just peel and stick on the file folder.   I do laminate each file folder so they will last.  I then put Velcro in each of the blank squares.  On the other side of the file folder I place strips of Velcro where the letters will be placed for the kids to be able to see.  Here are a few pictures:
