New purchase for classroom

I am always on the search for anything that could help me with my classroom organization and MAYBE make things go more smoothly in the classroom.  I'm always on the look out on how to organize my centers better and for the centers to be very easy for the students to access.  I have used bins in the past but the other day I was at Michaels (seems like I am there almost every other day as I am obsessed with DIY jewelry but that is another story) and as I walked in I saw this....

and I knew what I was going to use it for...CENTERS!!!  And what a great price...it was $39.00!!!  I knew it was meant to be.  Here is a close up of the front picture...

So I am still working it out in my mind how exactly I will run the centers but I was thinking I would label each drawer and the kids can take the drawer they need back to their group of tables.  OR assign the tables numbers and have matching numbers on the drawers and then the kids will know which drawers to take.  I like that my center activities will be in one place and I am hoping it will be easy to change things out because this cart is on wheels and I can wheel it around the classroom when I need to change materials in the drawers.  I will be able to put this up by my little stool that I have up at the front.  AND I can keep a basket on top of this cart with the things I need for that day.  Speaking of my stool, I don't think I have shown it.  About 4 or 5 years ago when I was at my other school, I was in another teacher's classroom.  As I was talking to this teacher, across the hall, the grade 2 French Immersion teacher kept flying back and forth past her door.   Of course I went over and she told me she got this stool from Canadian Tire and it allowed her to easily wheel around the room and come to the students while the students stayed in their seats.  I could not get to Canadian Tire fast enough.  Here is a picture of the stool....

I LOVE my stool.  Now I do have a few rules about the stool.  I do not allow the students to go on my stool as they could wheel around and fall off so I have written over it "No students allowed.  ONLY teachers."  And I go over this the first week of school and talk about safety reasons and the kids are really good at respecting this expectation.

The stool is by our meeting area and this is where I sit for our meetings and mini lessons. When I send the kids back to their desks to work, I can easily wheel over to the different tables.  I also have a little basket underneath that I can keep my notes, binders, etc. in for easy access.  AND the best part is that I am at height level with the students.  Here are a few different stools I found that would be an upgrade....

I just found this one on e-bay that would be the ultimate!!!

This post got me thinking of things I have found on e-bay that I have put on my wish list that I think would be useful in the classroom.  Look for a new post in a little bit on my Classroom Wish List.

Enjoy!

If the link doesn't work, just go on their site and look up repair seat. Online the price is $22.99 but it could be on sale. When the grade 2 French Immersion got hers, the seat was on sale for $10.00 so look for sales. Thanks so much for responding!
