Math Christmas Fun

So I also have Christmas math centers ready for next week that are available in my TPT store.  The following centers included in the package are:
- Zero Wins board game (colour & black and white boards)
- Christmas Patterning (colour & black and white)
- Roll, Count and Cover (or Colour) game (colour & black and white)
- Christmas Picture Match (colour & black and white)
- Match the Snowflake
- Number and Christmas Picture Match (colour & black and white)
- Roll or Spin a Snowman (colour & black and white)
- Candy and Snowman board game (colour & black and white boards) and spinners
- Number Place mats
- I Have Who Has (colour & black and white) can be played between 17-30 players

For some of the games, you will need some Christmas erasers.  I got my erasers at the dollar store.

Plant Journal Revisted with a New Addition Bean Greenhouse Activity

Hello,  I cannot believe I uploaded my plant journal in 2012!!!  I have been using this plant journal with my students for 12 years!!! My students still get excited when they get their journal and investigate their plant growth.   For the past two years I have started the Bean Greenhouses where my students put a few beans in wet cotton balls, place them in a ziploc and we put them on the window and watch them grow.  This year I have created a quick journal for my students to observe their observations.  I always give 3 beans to each student because the ziploc is rather small for any more.  This year my students will be able to get their Bean Greenhouse journal, put down what day it is of growing and then colour in what stage they see their beans. Blank Game Boards

Every year, no matter what grade level I am teaching, I end the year with the students making a game they can play at school and then take it home to play with their family.   And every year it seems I am scrambling to put the materials together for the students.   I have found the younger students really need something concrete they can use.   I came up with these pre-made template.   I made templates without spinners, with different types of spinners and with places for cards.   I have all the templates in a binder in clear plastic protectors and I get the students to pick which template they want the day before we do the activity so I can have the templates ready for the kids.   I also have pre-made squares with various game standards such as “Miss a turn” and Go back 2 spaces” the kids can cut out and glue on the squares they want.   There are also blank squares they can print on to customize their game.   I also give the students a template to help with the writing of their direc

Heart Sight Words for Mini Offices

I love my writing mini offices and so do my students.  Every year I tweak them so my students can get the most out of them.  Two years ago I added my themed word walls which I laminated and the students are able to change them out any time they want.  I love them!!!  This year I really wanted to add a changeable word wall on each folder but I wasn’t sure how to do this.  I have been experimenting with different things and I have finally come up with something I cannot wait to use in the classroom.  I have taken the dolch word lists (pre-primer, primer, grade one and grade two) and put each word in a little heart.  I printed those out, laminated and cut them and placed Velcro on the back of each little heart.  I glued 3 file folders together and made this my assessment/storage folder for the heart sight words.  When it is time to assess each students sight word recognition, I will use the file folder.   I will call each student up and have them bring their writing mini o
